Pursuant to the most recent collaboration, Synthetic Biologics intends to develop and commercialize a series of monoclonal antibody (mAb) therapies for the treatment of certain infectious diseases not adequately addressed by existing therapies. The initial collaboration is focused on development and commercialization of a DNA-based therapeutic for the treatment of pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH).
In addition, Synthetic Biologics is developing, or has partnered the development of, funded clinical programs to treat relapsing-remitting multiple sclerosis (MS), cognitive dysfunction in MS, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) and fibromyalgia (partnered with Meda AB).
