Since 1953 when we were established, HORIBA has offered internationally a large choice of products for research and development, process control and quality management in industry. The products supplied range from water and gas monitoring equipment for environment protection to diagnostics for treatment in health care. We have a well established global sales and service network to support our global and local customers in the best way possible. With the help of our customers and our good working relationship with them, we have achieved majority market share in several markets. Our long term view is to support these markets and be loyal to our customers.

HORIBA has four major business areas:

- The Automotive Test Systems business provides equipment and analytical systems for engine and chassis development and manufacturing. In particular, our emission measurement systems are widely accepted by major automobile and transportation manufacturers and their related industries.

- The Analytical business serves two major areas: Process and Environmental is a leader in environmental testing and measuring equipment for industrial operations. We also specialize in water quality, gas emission and ambient air monitoring equipment for testing stations in cities and elsewhere to protect our environment. The Scientific instrument part offers analytical and scientific equipment for R&D in universities, institutes and industrial establishments. The products are used extensively for new product development as well as quality control of solids, liquids, and gaseous phase materials.

- Our Medical diagnostic business focuses mainly on hospital and other medical facilities offering dedicated diagnostic blood testing equipment and analyzers. Established worldwide, we are able to support effectively the supply of all our instruments and reagents.

- The Semiconductor business offers many different products such as gas and liquid mass flow controls; equipment for monitoring and metrology; chemical composition analyzers and particle detection systems for ambient air monitoring. These are used in both R&D and wafer fabrication plants from the first stage of wafer preparation to front end process.

As a forward-looking company, we expect to build on our existing platform and our mid-long term management plan (MLMAP) is to grow in sales to a 200 billion Japanese Yen size company. Our achievements in the past in technology and business have led us to receive awards from many organizations and authorities.
